Advertising Sales Representative
We are a publishing company for a region specific annual wedding magazine focused on Austin and the surrounding areas. We provide a multimedia advertising platform that connects brides with premier wedding vendors in the region. Our mission is to develop a marketing program for our clients utilizing our magazine and website.
We are looking for motivated and qualified Advertising Sales Representatives with outside sales experience to join our sales team for print and online.
Ideal candidate must be a creative and highly-motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to prioritize work and driven to exceed goals with minimal supervision is a must. Position will be responsible for building and maintaining vendor relationships and working collaboratively with the Austin and surrounding area wedding industry in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Position will manage vendor accounts and be responsible for research and acquiring new vendor relationships.
Candidate will need to cold call and pursue sales opportunities and new account development. Candidate must be a highly-motivated, self-starter with excellent communication skills, enjoys working independently but is a team player who is extremely comfortable working with creative wedding professionals. Must have the ability to make solid presentations, negotiate contracts and close deals. Must be able to manage accounts after closing and have a proven track record for attracting and retaining business. In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and good follow- through, the ideal candidate must be self-motivated and highly goal oriented in order to achieve sales targets. Candidate must be extremely comfortable working with creative wedding professionals.
Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the sale from the initial call and closing the sale through making sure ad materials are received/created and coordinating with the production department to make sure everything is in place for the ad to run in the magazine. We do all the billing and collections.
Compensation is structure based on commission. The commission plan is very generous and has an opportunity for bonuses. Developing new business is a priority.
Some sales experience is preferred but not required. Ideal candidate must have experience in advertising, marketing, communications or related field. Experience in other fields considered with demonstrated promise to excel in sales.
